Peer-to-Peer and fault-tolerance: Towards deployment-based technical services

چکیده
For effective components, non-functional aspects must be added to the application functional code. Likewise enterprise middleware and component platforms, in the context of Grids, services must be deployed at execution in the component containers in order to implement those aspects. This paper proposes an architecture for defining, configuring, and deploying such Technical Services in a Grid platform.

Dynamically-Fulfilled Application Constraints through Technical Services Towards Flexible Component Deployments
We propose in this paper, a mechanism for Grid computing frameworks, for specifying environmental requirements that may set and be optimized by deployers. Specified by designers by parameterizing deployment abstractions, the constraints can be dynamically mapped onto the infrastructure. This work is integrated in the ProActive middleware with the concept of technical services. We illustrate thi...
متن کاملProActive: an Integrated platform for programming and running applications on grids and P2P systems
We propose a grid programming approach using the ProActive middleware. The proposed strategy addresses several grid concerns, which we have classified into three categories. I. Grid Infrastructure which handles the resource acquisition and creation using deployment descriptors and Peer-to-Peer. II. Grid Technical Services which can provide non-functional transparent services like: fault toleran...
متن کاملGestion du deploiement de composants sur reseau P2P
The deployment of component-based applications relies on a centralized directory to store the components. This paper describes an approach to distribute software components to be deployed on a set of peers of a peer to peer network in order to exploit some associated characteristics (load balancing, fault-tolerance, self-organisation). The proposed architecture is situated in the context of OSG...
متن کاملA Decentralized and Localized Algorithm to Build Cluster-Based Overlay Networks
Peer-to-Peer systems have many advantages for supporting large-scale applications and services. Some of the key properties of these systems include fault-tolerance, scalability, and support for loaddistribution of application traffic. Several recent works have shown that overlays where nodes are organized into well connected clusters can be used to further improve the fault-tolerance and the sc...
متن کاملOn the Impact of Fault-Tolerance Mechanisms in a Peer-to-Peer Middleware
We address the problem of integrating real-time fault-tolerance mechanisms into peer-to-peer systems, with specific architecture and deployment constraints. For this purpose we implemented a prototype hierarchical peer-to-peer framework in which the leaf peers are sensors that generate different kinds of traffic such as mesh management, events, video and audio. We evaluate the framework by meas...
